Just wanted to big up the gig i went to last night. After a stressful week I needed some uplifting music to buoy me up.
I went to see Stiff Little Fingers & The Ruts at the Waterfront in Norwich.
The Ruts came on first and really blew us away after 39 years in the Business they can still produce some really exciting new stuff and high energy hits like 'In a Rut', 'Babylons Burning','Staring at the Rude Boys' etc
Stiff Little Fingers are celebrating 40 years in the business and still wear their political leanings on their sleeves. Jake Burns had written a brand new song in the last couple of weeks called 'Tilting at Windmills' which lambasts Theresa May as not being 'able' not 'strong & stable' alongside his frustration about modern politik. Great songs like 'Tin Soldiers','Is this why you fought the war' and a scathing cover version of 'It Doesn't make it Alright' by the Specials. Absolutely awesome ..................
