Lump on my neck?

I have noticed a lump a little bit above my Addams apple. I went to the ER for a non-related issue and asked the doctor and he said it was just my cartilage but I'm not sure. It almost feels like a second Addams apple, and it moves when I swallow, and I've really never noticed it before. Is that normal? There's vein running right beside it in my neck that I've also never noticed before.

There is cartilage in your neck. It can feel like lumps. I've freaked myself out before, too.

Perhaps you’re feeling the hyoid bone? Also there is something similar to Adam’s apple (thyroid cartilage) called cricoid cartilage. It is right below it. Perhaps what you think is Adam’s is the cricoid and the one you are feeling above it is Adam’s?
