Can night sweats flush a flu out of you?

Had a flu almost gone and have had night sweats now for two nights- damp pillow and slightly wet bed sheets, is this the flu being sweated out? Also took paracetamol these two nights as well which could possibly cause it. Also have a lingering phlegmy cough

I am worried of falling asleep and waking up sweating again.
