Hey everyone - i'm totally new to this - first post ever so tell me if this is a load of rubbish, but I suffer from Social Anxiety really quite badly. I have always self medicated (Alcohol, Seredyn, Vitamins, exercise - in that order!).. but i've just found something which works REALLY QUICKLY for me.

There is a type of yoga called Kundalini Yoga, which stimulates energy going through the body, and levels it out. The body has 7 energy points - or Chakras - which use the energy in different ways. The 3rd chakra - what we would call 'core strength' is located just below the solar plexus, or where your digestive system is. By strengthening my core (getting into press up position and doing straight leg lifts) I find it takes away the anxious feelings within a couple of minutes. I feel stronger inside and out. Don't get me wrong - i'm no Eastern Philosophical guru, just someone who has found that stangely - it works :)

Have a great day guys xxxx

Hi Vertigo

I think its great people share their experiences on here. I find exercise is my saviour, although not been for 3 weeks and its starting to show, anxiety wise.

I have never tried Yoga. I tried meditation once, bought a kit and all that, sat down, stuck the cd on, couldn't relax, heart started pounding so I gave up lol.

Be interesting to see if anyone else has tried Yoga Kundalini or otherwise and what effect it had on them.

Good post.

Jaco
