Hi Guys!

I did an ear and nose swab in Singapore and it came back with a positive result for staph aureus bacteria. I read that this can be dangerous if entered into the bloodstream but according to the ENT in Australia, he told me that I don't have an infection... how accurate is an ear and nose swab? compared with a ct and mri scan?

Hey, I'm not a doctor but I kmow there are all sorts of bacteria on our skin all the time and are mostly harmless. Theres a difference between an infection and bacterial presence. Could be that the bacteria were there but never got to the point of infection.
If you have no symptoms and have been checked out i wouldn't over worry about it!
