Hi All,
So I've posted on here a fair amount sorry.
I've got dermatitis on my thumb and it appears like a cut in my skin and just below it now I've got what looks like an inflammation, so I'm assuming it's infected.
As per normal, given this is my trigger, I'm in a bit of a panic.
It feels like a burn, however, not an infection and it's not warm, so maybe I burnt it but can't remember.
However, when do you go to the DR about these kinds of things?
The cut is extremely painful but again not infected around the cut.
I"m trying really hard to be 'logical' about this but i know that infected fingers are nothing to joke about.
Should I leave it for a day and see what it's like tomorrow?
That's ok isn't it.
Sepsis can't develop in 24 hours?
x

We tend to forget that infectious illnesses were by far the biggest killers just over a hundred years ago, way over cardiovascular disease and cancer. Vaccines and antibiotics have turned that all around, but if you suspect you have some kind of infection, it's never wrong to check in with a doctor for monitoring, even if it is relatively minor. The main problem with health anxiety is not so much seeing the doctor, but then doubting the doctor, etc.

That’s a good wake up call! Thank you. Terrified now but thank you.
