View Full Version : Fluoxetine making me tired???

Hello,

So within the last few months I've been on fluoxetine for my general anxiety and I was never much of a sleep person, always found it quite difficult to sleep at night... since I've been on fluoxetine I'm constantly napping, finding it difficult to stay awake and asleep far earlier than I used to be!

I don't think I want to come off fluoxetine because I find this is really helping me (I've tried sertraline and it didn't seem to help me) but it is making me so tired, which is nice at night but during the day I want to feel more awake!

Does anybody have any advice on how I can feel more awake during the day, and would this be because of the fluoxentine?

What dose are you taking and when are you taking it?

You could ask your DR about lowering the dose if that is an option, or change the time of day when you take it.

So if you are taking it in the morning and you are tired all day, then switch to evening. It probably won't make much difference with fluox because it has such a long half life, but worth a try.

I'm taking one pill a day and ah I can't remember the dosage but it isn't a huge amount. I usually take it in the evening so I'm not sure what to do!
