Paranoid about spontaneous lung collapse happening

I’m tall and pretty thin, and one of the main symptoms of my anxiety is chest pain accompanied by shortness of breath. Now every time this happens I get paranoid I’m having a pneumothorax.

I don’t smoke and have no family history of this, but is it still likely it could happen given I’m tall and thin? This is just freaking me out.

I had this fear back when I was 17/18 - I'm thin like yourself. Not a smoker and no family history. Seven years later, I'd completely forgotten this was even a fear I'd had until now. Needless to say, the fear was totally unfounded. It's extremely unlikely to happen.

The chance of this happening to you is <0.018%, having done the maths with the available information. Aside from being a tall male, you have no real risk factors based on your post, which makes the chance of it happening to you even lower.

This sounds like classic health anxiety, where the symptoms of anxiety itself is causing you further anxiety.
