Hi everybody.

I have just signed up and I am new to this site. I have got the website out of "The mirror" paper.

Anyway im steven from blackburn. Im 23 years old and I have been suffering from Panic and Anxiety attacks since i was 20. I have become worse and worse. Paniced shopping so dont do that. Paniced in pub so dont go there. So only dont panic when I am at home. Thank fully im gettin slowy better. Im seeing a specialist who introduced me to "EFT" which i recommened to you all. It is really good for relaxing etc. Im am very Agrophobic. I cant even walk to the bottom of my street. So i have to drive everywhere.

I hope this has not been boring for you all the read . I hope to hear from you because when you suufer this its such a lonely feeling as you will all know.

take care all, regards steven

Hi Steven,

A great welcome from my part too. I haven't posted much here, but I've read alot and it helps to see we're not alone. By the way, I'm the guy you talked to on YouTube, with the alias [edit: self-censored]

It's interesting to see how people experience their agoraphobia differently. Mine is only worse in panic episodes, but for example: you say you can't walk down to the end of your street but can only go by car. Me it's the opposite. Everywhere I go, I have to go by walk, because if I'm in a car or in a bus, I feel like it's harder to escape if panic occurs.

Anyways, I hope you get out of this living hell soon and breathe anew. Life is so short and it sucks to waste it on fear. I've been having these for 12 years (I'm 25) but there are times when I can go months living a "normal" life.

You mentionned EFT. I've tried something similar, and although it is expensive, I recommend you try NLP. It stands for Neuro-Linguistic Programming, and if you get a good certified coach, it reaaaaally helps.

Good luck man.

Hi Steven and :welcome:

You'll get loads of advice and support here while making new friends along the way. I'm glad to hear you're making progress and moving in the right direction. Rather than focus on what you find difficult concentrate on what you can do instead. And one thing you are doing is overcoming this with great determination.

Take care,

Mike
