Breathing in freezing air

Hey guys I just woke up.
And I have a sensation like I’m breathing in really icy cold air. It burns my nose throat and lungs. I am scared.

My chest feels sore so when I take a deep breath it’s sore.
I’ve felt the coolness before while dealing with acid reflux. But that was only when taking in a deep breath early in the morning, This has been constant since I woke up. It just made me gag and something salty, bloody tasting came up.

I get this sensation sometimes if I've had a bad bout of reflux. It's because the airways become irritated. For me it was often like the same kind of irritation I used to get when I used to smoke.

What you're coughing up is phlegm, which is there to protect the irritation.

Anxiety causes hyperventilation, hyperventilation causes cold sensations.
