Hi guys!
I have a lump under my skin. It’s softish but I’ve been reading about moveable lumps va non movable lumps. How do you tell the difference? I can squeeze this pea size lump in my hands but I can’t move it from where it is. Does that make it moveable or not? I’m so confused - does anyone know? If it were unmovable does that mean all you do is poke it but not pick it up under the skin?
Dr said it’s a cyst or ingrown hair but I’m getting a second opinion.
Thank you!

I don’t have a great response, but I thought I’d tell you that I don’t get this either. I had a swollen lymph node in my armpit last year. I didn’t think it was moveable. When my doc looked at it, though, and pushed on it, he said it was moveable. I think maybe I don’t get it because I haven’t really felt one that isn’t moveable?

If yours is softish and you can squeeze it, I would think it’s nothing to worry about. As I age, I get more little cysts and bumps on my body. My doc always says that if they are soft they are most likely cysts or lipomas.

Good luck!!
