Hi Everyone

I'm having really hard time at the moment. Been struggling with back pain which the doctor said is from a compressed nerve. I had an MRI for on 4 days ago. However around 4 weeks ago I found a lump in my hip area which I went to my GP about. She said should couldnt tell if it was a muscle knot and she has put me on a 2 week fast track referral. Her rationale being not that she thought it was cancer but that it was the quickest way to relieve my anxiety over it. I had a pelvic xray a few weeks ago which was clear. Now im sat waiting to see a lump and bump specialist and its been over 2 weeks.

Im at my wits end because Im 32 and me and my partner are suppose to be planning for our future but im stuck worried sick about having Bone cancer or something. Shes at her wits end with it and thinks im being ridiculous.

Sorry for the rather rambling post. Abit of a mess atm.

well you're not being ridiculous its called having anxiety,unfortunately its the nature of the beast we overthink and then we come up with the worst, at least you're getting it checked that should give you reasurance, try and listen to what your gp said its more for your peace of mind x good luck x

When she decided to be with you and love you she signed up for all of your baggage. If you’re feeling anxious over these and she’s not being supportive or helpful she may just be feeling frustrated with the fact she can’t ease your mind. The best thing you can do right now is be as calm as possible until you get to talk to your doctor. Worrying before you gave anything to worry ab it only going to hurt you! Although i am fully aware that that is way easier said than done as i just had a panic attack today thinking i was having a heart attack because my arm hurt.

The good news is you are getting a really responsive service from your GP. Also there is no harm ringing to see where you are on appointment list with specialist. Have they sent you a letter?

Thanks for the replies guys.

Feel abit better having spoken to the doctor as she said she made the wrong referral and she should have just sent me for a ultrasound at the local hospital. She assured me its just for my piece of mind and the chances of it being anything bad are very remote.

Hopefully I should have it ultrasounded next week. I should also get my MRI results for my back issue.

Hopefully then I can focus on being more present for my partner.

Finally got my ultrasound appointment but its not till the 17th of August. So tge doctors managed to freak me out over a 2 week fast track to now having to wait a month for a non urgent ultrasound.

Im seeing my usual doctor tomorrow since he knows me more and is abit more experienced. Hopefully theyll have something back from the MRI by now.

Usual venting. Sorry.
