Hi Gary,

There are plenty of people who have beat panic attacks and many more who are well on the way. You might like to look at the panic attack (http://www.nomorepanic.co.uk/NMPcms.php?nmppage=panicattack) and first steps (http://www.nomorepanic.co.uk/NMPcms.php?nmppage=firststeps)pages to begin with which contain lots of useful info. In my opinion the most important factor in overcoming panic is to retrain your thoughts which doesn't happen overnight. I found the books written by Claire Weekes and her cassette tapes really help in this area.

Write down things which make you anxious and then possible ways of overcoming the problem no matter how daft they seem. Once you've chosen a possible solution break the problem down into small steps which should cause some anxiety but are manageable. Repeat each step until you feel ready to move onto the next.

Good luck!

Mike
