I feel like I’m a walking time bomb right now. I have heart squeezing sensations, tons of skipped heart beats, shortness of breath. I have it all. I was diagnosed with Left Ventricular Hypertrophy last year, but the cardiologist didn’t seem too concerned at all. I was fine for a while, but all of a sudden, the symptoms came back with a vengeance.

Understandably those are scary symptoms. But of course they’re also symptoms which are aggravated by anxiety. Trust the cardiologist on this one.

I’m trying to! But then I keep going back and forth on the thought that it’s been a year since they last saw me. What if it got worse, and it’s not my anxiety?! G dangit

Did the cardiologist instruct you to follow up within a certain period?

Yes. I once had 17 out of 18 symptoms of a Doomsday (guaranteed kill) cancer. I'd already picked out my gravestone from a local funeral/undertakers' establishment and I'd already written, enveloped and sealed my goodbyes to all known by me, family and friends. That was in the early 1980s. I was wrong about the entire thing and it took me a wretched 2 years to find out how wrong I was.

There you go! Cardiologists are extremely highly trained specialists. He wouldn’t tell you that for no reason. So, are you taking his advice to control your anxiety?
