Hi guys

New to this place so nice to be here.
Been suffering with depression and anxiety for years but in the last fortnight I’ve got a lot worse and had to have time off work with it. I was devastated but I needed the break. I sought medical help, which was very difficult.
My doctor prescribed me with 10mg a day of citalopram. I’ve been on it just under a week and some of the side effects have been a struggle: stomach complaints, higher anxiety, fatigue. But I just wanted to know anyone else who has been on it and if there are any success stories out there to get me through this period of toughing it out.

Many thanks!!

The first few weeks really are tough & I ended up throwing the towel in at week 2 because I couldn't tolerate it. I quickly restarted it though & am so glad I did, I'm no longer on it but it really did save me from my anxiety and depression.

Hi there. Just make sure that you stick with the tablets.I was signed off work with anxiety for eight weeks. I started on 20 mg of citalopram. It took some eight weeks for the tablets to start working. After 18 months and still on leads to the Tablets I am so much better. Please do not give in. Hang in there and it will get much better.

I'm about to start back on Citalopram today after about 2 years off them so would be great to hear how you're getting on! X

Thank you I read it AT LENGTH last time I went on Citalopram and it helped so much! It's still nice to talk things through with people who are starting out at the same time though x
