I started taking Lexapro 5mg 2 weeks ago, 4 days later increased to 10mg.

I've noticed my overall mood is improved but my anxiety hasn't budged.

What kind of time frame should I be focusing on?

Also; I have been asked to attend a 40th bday at a bar. Can I have 1 - 2 cheeky drinks?

Hello,

I’ve been on 15mg for 6 weeks or so now. My anxiety improved after about 6 weeks at 10 mg. My doctor thought I might benefit from an increase, but I am currently going through increased side-effects, so may go back down to 10.

I pretty much gave up alcohol for 5 months, but now have a couple of ‘cheeky drinks’ at the weekend and I’m fine.

I have found escitalopram to be slow to take effect, but my anxiety is very low now. It’s the side-effects which are doing for me. Especially the agitation/jitteriness and jaw clenching. Not everyone gets this of course.

Good luck!

Good luck!Oh I'm sorry you're having side effects!
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you regarding reduced dose..

I'll stick it out. Thank you for your advice.
I've been suffering GAD since I was 7. I used to pull out my eyelashes and pull my hair out.
This is my first experience with medication.
Let's just say... I've been a little stubborn.
