Scared I've contracted Herpes

I just went a date last night and briefly kissed the guy goodnight before I went home. Today a part of my bottom lip is kinda tingling and I'm terrified I've contracted herpes because I didn't ask him his medical history before I kissed him and I don't want to seem like an utter weirdo by asking him.
He had no visible sores anywhere on his face and the kiss was a very brief peck. I think I'm probably over-reacting just because I've never kissed anyone before without asking them if they have herpes first, and I often get dry lips and such due to my anxiety, but some reassurance would be appreciated rn xx

Typically, the virus has to be active and a visible lesion present so no, I don't think so. That being said, what's the worst possible scenario? :shrug: Most of the world's population has been exposed to or has HSV.

Is there any reason you’re scared of herpes?

Was it a good date & will you see him again?

It’s unlikely you’ll contract it. My Mum suffered, and so does my partner. I’ve never had one yet.
