Just had my letter through to say I need a chest CT scan done on 13th Sep.
It’s not the scan that worries me at all, I’m fine with that. But it said ‘with contrast’ and that’s what I don’t like. I have a major fear of medicines (I haven’t even taken a head ache tablet for around 17 years!!).
I’ve already called the hospital to ask if the scan can be done without contrast and the lady said she’s unsure and I’d have to discuss this with the radiographer on the day. The thought of them putting a needle in my hand/arm and feeling warm liquid going around my body (that’s what I’ve read) just totally freaks me out.
Has anyone had a chest CT scan without contrast?
