View Full Version : Now I’m starting to be afraid I’m getting ALS.

For the last couple of days, I’ve had trouble swallowing. When I have a meal, I’m still able to eat and drink but my saliva when I swallow it keeps getting into my windpipe and sometimes it comes back up. Sometimes while eating it takes an effort to swallow if I’m eating fast. It started when I was at chipotle and I was eating chips and some got stuck and I had to sip my drink to get it down. Also I feel like a tingly feeling in my throat. I’m really scared and any words of reassurance would help me right now.

Well what happens sometimes is, I have to try twice to swallow liquid but I’ve never been unable to. Sometimes when I eat food, it reaches the back of my throat but my swallow reflex doesn’t kick in and I can’t move the food. A drink will always make it go down. I don’t have any issues moving my tongue or talking.
