Cannot bring myself to start meds....

Hi

Im spiralling with anxiety.

I wake up with a racing heart and every other anxiety symptom going and feel so bad all day and night.

My GP has given me Sertraline but I cannot bring myself to take them knowing that ADs make your anxiety worse before they get better.

I seriously wouldnt be able to cope with side effects as well as feeling worse.


I have no issues taking meds for my thyroid or high blood pressure though.

I know I should of taken them during the summer hols when the kids were home.

I honestly thought Id feel more relaxed and better while the kids were home but Ive felt worse every single day.

Any advice please?

Unfortunately it's one of those things where if you want to get benefits, you have to accept that things could get worse for a short while before. I don't know what advice to give you because it can't really be helped :sad:

You have to ask yourself what is better - to feel worse for around 2 weeks but then have a chance of getting life quality back, or to let those two weeks pass by anyway and feel a little less awful but then that continue on indefinitely?
