As many people on this forum, I struggle with health anxiety.
Most recently, I'd had some odd sensations on my far right side. I thought it might be my liver or gall bladder. The doctor who gave me a colonoscopy a couple months ago was a liver specialist and wasn't worried.
So, recently, I woke up with an ache by my right shoulder blade. I automatically suspected pancreatic cancer.
After some googling, I found it's also a symptom of lung cancer.
Perhaps unrelatedly, I started getting aches in my chest. Odd localized pains that come and go at different spots as well as aches under my clavicle. Also, aches that come and go in my upper back.
I'm 42 and smoked for about 7 years in my 20s. I look and the chances seem slight but not impossible. Specifically, for something like a coastal tumor. I don't have shortness of breath, it doesn't hurt to breathe deeply. I'm a runner and exercise seems fine.
I've made an appointment with my GP on Tuesday. I'm scheduled to leave town for a romantic get away. I would really like for my anxiety to not unnecessarily interfere.
I guess my questions are: whether I'm rightfully concerned (the descriptions I've found are pretty vague) and what other questions I should be asking.
