Flying near hurricane

I'm still trying to get over my fear of flying. I felt confident when booking this flight but now there is a hurricane coming up the east coast and I am so worried its going to be very turbulent. I know it will be safe but I just cant take the dropping feeling. Has anyone flown in the vicinity of a hurricane before?

No but its normal - planes fly through hurricanes as part of research. Safe for them = safe for me

I was on a plane into florida when hurrican matthew hit we where the last plane in being the same with fear the flight was one of the best i have been on tbh you will be fine
