weird feeling like not in my own body

afew days ago i began all of a sudden to hear voices telling me what to do and couldnt face lights so sat in darkness for 12 hrs feeling i was going mad and repeating what the voices were telling me over and over again and seeing imaginary people/things . saw docs and they said it was like a physcotic episode??

anyone else here have experience of this or something similar please

I haven't but my friend did.
She;s had two episodes of this - both weirdly when she went on holiday - anxiety of being away maybe. She heard voices, TV was talking directly to her, she felt that she could heal people by touch and had extreme highs and lows.
She's fine now but knows that if happens again she must seek help. Hope your doc was helpful - if not, go again and see a different one. x

thanks she said i can go to a counsellor and hopefully it was a one off as i go away 3 times a year and never happened before so fingers crossed

will be arranging app with a counsellor tomorrow for as soon as

I think this is known as depersonalization. It is closely related to derealization, where you feel disconnected from your environment.
