Could I have cracked my tooth???

About 3 weeks ago I bit down on a hard cornflake and I did not feel any pain. I am a little worried that I have cracked my tooth. I have noticed that I have sore gums and when I move my cheek or rub my tongue over the teeth I get a sensitive pain. I can eat toast ok and drink hot and cold liquids ok. I have a Major fear of dentists....


If I had cracked my tooth would I be in constant pain?


Edit: I have been looking at my teeth with a torch but cannot see any obvious cracks.

I had a tooth going bad and I demolished it on a pop corn kernel so theoretically I guess it's possible, but the only way to know is to see a dentist. If you're getting pain around the gum and sensitivity, that should be addressed anyway.
