I visited a walk in doctor today after experiencing sharp pains under my left ribs and back/flank area for about 2 weeks. No other real symptoms aside from periods of feeling excessive gas. He did a full exam and didn't feel anything abnormal but suggested an ultrasound to be safe.
I asked him after if it could possibly be an enlarged spleen and he said an ultrasound would rule it out. However he mentioned he was able to feel the tip of my spleen since I'm not too heavy, but said that alone doesn't mean it's enlarged. I've done some reading on it and sites say that you shouldn't be able to feel a spleen in normal adults. Now I'm worried that's what it could be, and that could open up a whole can of problems.
