Tonight I was really upset, crying a lot, hyperventilating. Afterward I was laying in my bed and I noticed that when I breathe out I can hear a tiny whistle. It isn’t loud or strong. I don’t feel anything in my lungs.

I don’t hear it when I’m upright - just if I’m laying down. Is this “wheezing”? I don’t have asthma.

Of course I started taking big deep breaths and breathing out through my mouth so that I could hear it. Maybe it’s normal to have those little whistles sometimes when you exhale deeply like that. Maybe it’s because I was crying so hard earlier?

I just don’t know if it’s something to be worried about.

Why is this even a concern? Do you think we have a 100% clear airway 100% of the time? You were crying. When you cry, your body produces moisture in the form of tears, mucous etc. End of story :lac:

It’s a concern to me because it’s still happening at night and I don’t know if it’s something to worry about or if it’s normal.

It’s more like congestion.
With wheezing you are short of breath too.
