My long running battle to get proper treatment with the local NHS in Brighton & Hove has inspired me to create a new website especially for the people of Brighton and the surrounding areas. I think it makes sense to get everyone's opinions in one place and see what is available to us and also what should be. Things are changing within the local NHS and perhaps people aren't aware of what this means.

After being a member here for quite some time, I also noticed that certain buddy groups were cropping up from time to time but often these people were so far apart that it would be unlikely that they would ever meet.

With this in mind I thought it would be a good idea to create a local site for Brighton & Hove where we can discuss local issues relating to anxiety. I feel it would be an ideal companion of a national/international site like NMP.

Lastly, I would like to say that it is a completely free to join, ad-free, no sponsors, totally non-commercial site.

Thanks for reading,
Martin. :yesyes:

Hi everyone, thought I'd make a quick update ....

The site has been established for over a year now and we've grown to have 141 local members so far. We now have weekly 'meets' which provide an opportunity to meet others who understand. Actually, having a regular weekly appointment has been of great benefit to me.
I might find it difficult to get there but at least I'm with people that won't judge me by my anxiety.

Best wishes to all,
Martin.
