Really bad wildfires and smoke everywhere

There are really huge wildfires going on in my area and the air quality is really poor. My college cancelled classes today but they resume tomorrow even though the air quality will be first. Even though I have been indoors all day I keep feeling terrified of all the smoke and i know this is psychological but I keep feeling short of breath and hyperventing. Im scared of all the smoke and keep wondering when it will all go away.
Any advice?

It is truly surreal what is going on in California. Glad you're safe. I'm sure its all over the news out there and I can understand why you feel the that way you do but truly, you're Ok. Keep an eye and ear out to listen to the authorities.
