Hi everyone,

I’m going to a nice Christmas market this evening and I’m gettjng ready but feeling so anxious. All of the sudden my left arm is sore and I’m worried about a heart attack :(

Trying to calm down, but I find it so difficult leaving home sometimes because of the anxiety

Just keep thinking it’s typical anxiety pain right!? chest tightening, breathing difficult, sweaty, dizzy etc AND your feeling anxious so of course that’s what it is!
I’m breathing through chest pains too thinking it’s a breast cancer symptom even though Saturday I had a specialist consultant tell me I’m fine!

You can do it, have a lovely time :)

That’s really tough. But you know it’s your anxiety that is giving you these feelings. I bet you’ll have an amazing time!

Remember to take a calming breath if you feel a bit overwhelmed, or take some mints to suck on, or something to fiddle with.

Then come back & tell us how much fun you had.

Thanks for responding Gee xx
The symptoms of course subsided when I was finally out and busy. Definitely anxiety related
Was able to have a great time :)

Glad to hear that your specialist consultant went well!

Thank you for the response, Scass!
It’s so difficult sometimes. But I did a grounding technique before I left. 5 things you can see, 4 things you can hear, two things you can smell, and it really helped me come back to reality.

I ended up having a fun time! Glad I went and didn’t let anxiety take over :)

Well done!

I always forget that grounding technique when I need it!

Thank you!
It's so helpful! It was my first time doing it, but I'm not sure how effective it would be out in public
