Coughing causing pulled stomach muscle?

I have had a cough (a mixture of tickly and productive) for 3 weeks now. About 2 weeks in i developed a pain in my mid left hand side of abdomen (higher then belly button) It still hurts a week later, when i cough, walk, and move in certain ways. Has anyone else experienced this before? Or indeed a cough that lasts so long ? Many thanks.

Last year ive had a flu and the cough lasted 4 weeks before it was gone, and ive had muscle pain because of that.

Yeah, I've pulled the tiny muscles near the ribs before due to things like this as well as other things. My mum also does a lot of coughing, which worsens when she has things like colds, and she ends up with weeks of pulled muscles.

Most certainly. I have had pulled stomach muscles and pulled chest muscles all caused by prolonged coughing. Coughs themselves can be short lived or go on and on and on, for literally weeks. Do don't worry
