Hello there,

I am currently being treated for OCD and depression. However, I have realised that my lows happy every december, consistently for the past 3 years. I believe that I maybe suffering from Seasonal Affective Disorder.
However, one of my main physiological symptoms of low mood is extreme dizziness.
My question is, does this sound familiar to anyone? Has anyone experienced this? The dizziness kicks in every December, which makes for rotten christmases.
Thank you in advance for your comments and I wish you all a happy, healthy new year.

Jennifer

Well I get kinda down in the winter, my therapist has teased that perhaps I have a little bit of SAD.

I also know from expert medical authority while investigating my own dizzies that dizziness can come on a seasonal basis due to a number of possible reasons. Although mine isn't strongest in winter so SAD can't be my cause.

But it's quite possible that they are linked for you. One thing is for sure that anxiety can cause dizziness, no question about it!

Whenever the sun is not out and I'm outside, I feel dizzy off balance and like my eye sight is going dim and I could faint or something. When the suns out, normally I feel absolutely fine walking around outside!

Thank you for your messages. It’s an interesting thought that dizziness can be seasonal, and I’m warming to the idea that I’m suffering with something like SAD. It certainly helps to know that others feel the same way, and you’re not alone.
