I've been on sertraline since I was 15- I'm 32 now and I find it really helpful. I struggle with OCD and I feel like it helps to calm the 'noise' from that. I started with 150mg but reduced the dose (no point in being on more meds than you need) and feel good on 75mg.

I really can't remember getting any side effects from it so hopefully you'll also have a good response to it :)

I've just come off Sertraline as it didn't work for me. I went up to 150mg and have come off slowly. I was on it around 10 months.

Are you still taking the Venlafaxine? See, that one worked for me... it's weird how they affect us all differently. I hope this is the one for you. You certainly learn patience being on these bloody drugs!

Side effects vary for everyone. Sertraline gave me:

nausea (for 48 hours)
a slightly hyper/manic state of mind (for the first 4-5 days)
occasional bleeding gums (first couple of weeks)
a clenched jaw and teeth grinding (first 4-5 weeks)

... but it started working very quickly. I began to feel less anxious within a few days, and was getting the full benefits within 2-3 weeks.

I had the sleeping problem.
So tired yet couldn't sleep :weep:
Lasted about 6 weeks.
I was only ever on 50mg.
Worked well but I changed to 10mg Lexapro after 3 yrs only because I preferred the Lex.
