Hi,

My name is Neil and I am 31 from Liverpool. I have been suffering with my anxiety condition for about 3 months now. I am on medication (Citalopram) but unfortunately it is getting worse not better.

Anyway, I am looking to chat and offer or get some information and support from others who are experiencing the same symptoms as me.

I have already browsed some of the forum and it looks a really informative and friendly community that a lot of people seem to be benefiting from. I hope I can too.

Hi Neil

I am across the water in Ellesmere Port and also on Citalopram, what dosage are you on. My dose was recently increased to 60mg a day. Citalopram does take time to kick in.

Hi Clive,

I am only on a 10 mg dose and I have been on that for nearly 5 weeks now. My GP told me that was the dose for anxiety. My anxiety is health related though and it doesn't seem to be helping with that.

Stick with the Citalopram if you can - it does sometimes get worse before it gets better :)

Have you asked your GP about CBT, I had it for my health anxiety and it helped me a lot

I agree with GroovyGranny, Citalopram can take a good few weeks before you feel any benefit from them, so stick with it. I was on Citalopram and they worked great for me, really helped and I was on same dose as you.
