Hi
Has anyone had anything similar? This used to happen to me very occasionaly but it now happens almost every time I need a bm, I begin to feel odd, my heartrate goes up to 160bpm aprox, I start sweating, shaking, go tingly in hands and feet and then as soon as I go to the loo for a bm it all passes, very scary!!
Any ideas? Going to gastro doc on Monday.
Thanks xx

Happened me before mostly at night time. I’d have a very quick urge to go and I’d be sweating and be shaking until it passed I never really questioned it it did happen a few times but very long periods apart x

Thanks so much for your replies. I used to get it maybe once or twice a year but it was so rare that I would then forget about it, but recently it's been happening almost every time, some worse than.other, 2 days ago it was so bad I almost called for an ambulance, it only lasted a few minutes but it scared me so much!!
Please if anyone has similar symptoms please post, I will also post if the gastro doc gives me any intetesting info.

Could this be related to the vagus nerve?

Pulisa, that's what I've thiught too, but it seems a bit extreme, gastro doc today, see what he comes up with.
Thanks

Hi there
The gastro doc had no answers, he said he'd never heard anything like that without pain, he said that people who have pain when having a bm can have those symptoms but without pain he doesn't see how the vagus nerve can be irritated. He gave me some fibre stuff to take to see if by going more than once a day would make it any better. Basically he didn't have a clue

At least it shows that it’s not indicative of anything to worry about! Give the fibre a go and see what happens, the body really can be strange with no good reason or cause.
