Hey guys..

I am working on calming myself down.. I have been spiralling lately..

I was touching my scalp randomly and noticed a large bump ( almost like a goose egg from hitting your head) on the back of my head. I thought maybe it was a zit or something as I had a zit type bump just bellow it. However, upon feeling it.. it felt quite inflamed. Since it has become more tender.. not sure if its cause I have touched it. I went to the doctor today he looked at it, but didn't really touch it.. he said it was an infection which has caused swelling - usually resulting from a scratch/zit or something on scalp. He has given me cream.. but I'm spiralling..

I keep thinking what if its a lymph node? what if its a giant tumour? What if I have neck and head cancer as I also have popping ears.

I know that I should trust the doctors but I have SO much doubt... could he tell without touching it that it wasn't sinister? Should I get another opinion?

Has anyone had this type of thing before? Can someone reassure me that it isn't cancer?

Trust the doctor - they know more than we do

I'm not a Dr but I've had this tender bump on head before. It's quite common during or after a cold. I've never thought anything more sinister of mine as they've disappeared after a couple of weeks. There are no lymph nodes on your head, so now head or neck cancer! It's likely to be what the Dr says as he's seen it before.
