Lymph nodes under jaw

So when I was growing up I was obsessing about lymph nodes and even now I am, always thinking it's something bad, I got one checked not too long ago and it's nothing and when I was going through a phase of looking for them I notice two under my jaw one on each side and I notice they were hard and they hurt, this was probably many years ago and now I remembered then and the one is still hard and it hurts when I touch it but you can't see it it's only when I'm digging for it, I have an appointment next week but I'm freaking out about it

Not a doctor, but I think a general rule of thumb for malignant/worrying lymph nodes is that they don't hurt and don't stay unchanged for years. I also think it'd probably swell up to be noticeable if it was getting really troubling. If you noticed it years ago and it hasn't hurt you yet, then you're almost certainly fine, but I hope you get good reassurance from the doctor.
