Hi
ive been on this med for 7 yrs at different doses.
for the past few years Ive been getting really itching skin, legs, arms, stomach, chest.

Today as sent me over the edge, I’ve had a look at leaflet and it mentions Dose-related paresthesias with venlafaxine over 150mg
Does anybody else get this??

I've been on 150mg for 4/5 years now and get pretty bad itching sensations which are worse at night. I blamed my pain med for causing it but maybe it's linked to Ven. I did increase to 225mg for a while but it never helped so went back down to 150mg. Noradrenaline re-uptake supposedly increases at around the 150mg mark so it would make sense for side effects to increase at higher doses.

The "paresthesia" mentioned could include itching but is mainly related to tingling, prickling and pins and needles sensations which I get only rarely.

It does feel at the beginning like a prickling, I feel it like someone flicking an elastic band and then I have to itch it can not leave it. It’s makes me very irritated. No cream I bought (and a few,) or been prescribed have worked. I’ve taken 2 anti-histamines this morning and it’s still lurking but no where near what it was this morning. I feel it could flare up again anytime. I also get these blotches on my legs only

Does anybody else get this??Have you thought about tapering off the Effexor and trying something else?
