View Full Version : Cat scratch! Very scared

I made a post like this over a year ago I think. My wound healed nicely, no pain or redness and I didn't get tetanus or a tetanus shot. This time, I got scratched on Monday and the wound has been so painful and there's a little redness around it so now I'm panicking. I'm worried about tetanus again and since I had a sudden onset of small fiber neuropathy 2 years ago that also developed into autonomic neuropathy (POTS/IST) they still don't know the cause (they're guessing autoimmune but have also noted that I took antibiotics around that time and also botox for spasms) so I'm scared of taking anything that can mess with my immune system (vaccine) unless it's deemed absolutely necessary. I don't know what to do and I've been experiencing pain in my hands today that come and go and that is different from my usual small fiber neuropathy pain, I don't know if that's a sign of tetanus I'm too scared to Google. Last time you guys we're so amazing that I thought I'd turn to you guys again this time.

Also is there any way you can post pictures here?

Why not go back and read the responses from the previous thread? (https://www.nomorepanic.co.uk/showthread.php?210259-Cat-scratch-and-puncture-wound-worried-sick!)

I did before posting this thread. What worries me this time is that I have symptoms I didn't have last time: the wound is very painful to touch and water etc. And it's a little red around it. Could this mean that I might get tetanus?

As was said before, just keep it clean and use an antibacterial cream.
