Second cold sore in a month - worried

Hello

So about 3 weeks ago I got my very first cold sore! I'm 32 female, and have no idea where I got it from...
Anyway, it went away... but now I seem to be developing another one!

I'm concerned it could be to do with an immune system problem (eg HIV) or something.... :(

OR could I have re-infected myself by using asthma inhalers, lip balms etc that I might have used when I had the original infection? Or would that not be possible?

Two cold sores in 3 weeks can't just be normal, can it?

Yes it can be normal.

It is not from HIV but the HPV virus usually and cold sores are very contagious so no kissing anyone :winks:

I can have 3 or 4 cold sores at the same time, mostly due to the change of weather and humidity.... they can be really sore as the name suggests but they are also really obvious and make you a bit self concious talking to people..... BUT that is it, they clear up and yes perfectly possible to then get another one really quickly again..absolutely nothing to worry about.

Zovirax or Cymex are good at treating them but you do have to put it on littlerally every hour as per the instructions on the tubes for it to work properly
