Hi I can’t stop worrying about back ache, I’ve had tests and mri and nothing came back the doc has put it down to muscular and the fact I’m 6ft 3 and obviously any little ache my anxiety amplifies it.

Does anyone else here suffer with back pain through stress and anxiety???

I have really bad upper back ache and chest ache - as if my rib muscles are all tight and sore. I think it's something called costachondritis, and it tends to go up and down in terms of severity throughout the year. I did think maybe a lack of vitamin D/calcium is a contributing factor as they can affect muscles as well as bones. Also, posture and stress can cause tension in the back. Try yoga, relaxation, massage, bath with muscle soak?

It just hurts so much, can anxiety and stress really cause this much pain???

I think how it works is that anxiety and stress can exacerbate minor twinges, both by increasing muscle tension and altering your perception of pain because you're focusing on it that much harder.

Even without anxiety, back pain is the single most common medical complaint on the planet.
