Hello all
All day, on and off, I've felt a twitching sensation from within my rectum. It's not really painful or uncomfortable, but it is annoying. I've had this symptom that comes and goes for months now, but today it's been worse than it usually is. Is this something to be concerned of? I have a fear of bowel cancer, can it be a symptom of this? The doctor believes I have hemorroids, could this be the culprit?

Many thanks.

I sometimes see questions on here which give me a bit of a giggle... This is one of them.

Your anal sphincter is a muscle. Like all muscles, it's prone to twitching.

Nada serious.

Good luck

Better a written description than a picture or video (which has happened! :scared15: )

^ This. Twitches whenever a letter from the Revenue & Customs lands on the mat :winks:

But roids definitely too, had it many times. Seems to happen more when sweating in that area or obviously if having a bit of a flare up.
