I had what I thought was a callous on my big toe. I put some foot cream on it and a plaster.
It has now gone brown and looks like a melanoma.
I'm very scared.

I've seen this happen with one on my husband's heel. Spent months in a state of abject terror, despite him telling me exactly what it was... and then the skin dried up and fell off.
Health anxiety turns us into raging idiots.

Did your husband have a round brownish patch after the callous had come off?

He did, yes, and the skin was quite new and shiny.
Still stressing over brown patch on toe.
It wasn't there until the callous came off.
It looks like a mole , scared it's melanoma.
Have GP appointment next Wednesday but am terrified.
Please has anyone else had this.
Feel like I'm going mad...

Yes, you keep on saying this. However, you'll be better off working on getting a lid on your anxiety, doing some focused breathing, etc.
I will tell GP about my anxiety next Wednesday
It really looks like a mole now , it's not going !!
Of course it's not going, these things can take weeks to months.

Very anxious at the moment.
The area on my toe looks like a mole with different colours, it was under a callous that came off.
i keep looking at it , doctors next week , but have convinced myself it’s melanoma.
I have had replies but has anyone else had this..

Have Dr's appointment on Thursday about mole/brown patch on toe.
It's not going.
I'm terrified !
My toes really hurting now.
I think it might be where I've been constantly bending it to have a look at it.
I'm scared it hasn't got better.
Still brown like a new mole.
But I had a callous !!!
I saw gp this afternoon, she thinks the brown mark is trauma from the callus.
ive got to go back in a few weeks.
i hope she’s right !!
STill have the mole like thing on my toe.
its been nearly 3 weeks.
doctor thinks it’s trauma but to go back in 4 weeks if it’s not gone.
Surgery has a doctor who removes moles etc might see him next time.
still so worried that it’s melanoma.

IVE HAD THE BROWN MARK THAT LOOKS LIKE A MOLE AND WAS UNDER A CALLOUS FOR FIVE WEEKS.
IT DOESN'T SEEM TO BE GOING.
I HAVE ANOTHER DRS APPOINTMENT NEXT WEEK.

Yes i had a brown mark under a callous. It’s probably dead skin like mine was. There was trapped dirt in it because the callous had opened up and closed back up again. I don’t think it’s anything to worry about.

The brown area on my toe has now dried up and fallen of.The skin now looks normal.
I'm so relieved.
I'm due to start cbt nexthe Monday, I hope this helps with my anxiety.

Just relieved and determined to get some help for my anxiety.
