Hi. Haven't posted here in a long time. Last week or so I have been getting a twitch in my left calf constantly and under my foot same leg this is continuing all day and night. Starting to slightly worry.... It's just my left leg which makes me worry even more so. Anybody ever get this and it went away

From what I can tell, this is an extremely regular occurrence and nothing to stress about whatsoever.

I see it alot too with other posters. Just this is on my left leg and foot only. I also notice it alot more when I wear jeans or have my leg pressed against something I can feel it popping its almost like when my muscle is against something it twitches too but also twitches when just sitting and standing. Actually quite annoying. I suppose what I want to know is there anybody out there who had something similar? It's right behind my knee at the back and front in my shin and back of calf and bottom of foot.

I am prone to twitches but usually on my arms face or back... Usually they go away but these ones seem very unsettling... I don't even wanna mention what I'm thinking

I have read them yes. My concern is its just on my left leg calf and foot. Also noticed now its starting to cramp and be in constant twitch vibration mode. Lasting almost 3 weeks now and cramping sensation in calf. I have zero weekness but a little pain I guess from constantly been at the leg and testing it. Going to try a megnesium supplement see if it helps

Recently went to my gp about ongoing twitching in my left calf left thigh and left foot 3 weeks now. She done some strength tests etc and then ordered an MRI of my spine as she suspects nerve damage from my back is the culprit and causing the twitching didn't even think this was at all possible? Anyways I asked her about the dreaded muscle wasting disease and all she said was let's not worry about the wierd and wonderful for now. I'm still so worried. She also ordered some blood tests so waiting on the to come back. Anybody have similar and shoukd I be reassured ugh

She’s the doctor here, she’s been to medical school so clearly it’s possible or she wouldn’t of brought it up.

To further that, nerves, particularly those in the back and spine carry messages to and from the brain about movement. It’s almost certain if something happens to these they could cause uncontrolled movement such as twitching. They are damaged and miss firing.

Hi all. Got my recent MRI results back of my lower spine. Had twitching for weeks in my left calf and left foot along with other sensory symptoms burning and tingling and occasional cramps. Gp suspected herniated disc pressing on a nerve causing these symptoms. Anyways turns out I have disc degeneration. She then just said go to physiotherapy and mri revealed no nerve issues so how does it explain the twitching or maybe degeneration can cause that too she just didn't seem that bothered maybe I shouldnt be either. Anybody have same tho really appreciate replys

I have been twitching the last 7 weeks in my left leg and left thigh left foot. Had an mri showed degeneration and bulging discs. My doctor has told me this isn't causing my twitching leg even tho I get pain down that leg and numbness. She has since referred me to an neurologist to find out why I'm twitching I asked her if it could be als and she says I don't know. At this stage I'm sick with worry so sick. I have no weakness. Anybody? Have anything similar. I wish I could just stop the worry

I had a herniated disc just over a decade ago and it directly caused all sorts of leg tingling/twitching issues, as well as numbness on one side.

Mine are just bulging not herniated she says no nerve roots issues. I experience numbness and pain and lots of foot and calf twitching. Can a bulging disc cause sciatica i wonder. In just in a huge mess right now thinking the worst

One side you mean including your arm?

The disc didn't cause my arm to go numb....but....it caused all sorts of trapped nerve issues further up my back which indirectly did cause loss of feeling/strength on one side. It was significant enough for the GP to send me for physiotherapy.

I can't see how a bulging disc CAN'T cause some nerve interference as everything is packed together along the spine.

I have been twitching everyday on my left calf muscle and left foot for the past 9 weeks. Everyday. Its so stressful. I have been to the doctors and I have bulging discs in my lower back and degenerative changes. I'm waiting on a neruo appointment. Last 9 weeks I have been a worried mess thinking it's slow onset of ALS... I'm 33 so not young. Have kids and just a nervous wreck and losing weight with the stress of it all. Has anybody have anything similar

Hi Missy Kat I am in the exact same position as you but I’m now on 7 months of it! I’m 29 and female

I know how horrible it is it really consumes you to be honest I slowly was getting better and coping with life and i did notice the twitches disappeared - I am my own worst enemy as I recently read an article and my worries returned funnily enough so did the twitching

If you ever need to talk I’m always here I know how lonely it can feel I’m still suffering hoping I can get over it soon

Oh also for what it’s worth I’ve spoke to many neurologists who assure that twitching without clinical weakness really is nothing- it can be all sorts thyroid problems - vitamin deficiency and most of all anxiety!

A lot of people die from ALS within three years, so if you’ve had twitches for months and no other symptoms, it’s pretty safe to assume it’s not ALS.

Hi I’ve just seen your post and can totally identify with you as I’ve had exactly the same for the last 2months also . I’m really worried and convinced it’s serious. You are a lot younger than me so not really in the age bracket for something serious. I hope we get rid of this horrible thing soon.

Thanks. I just wish this would go away. You have twitching 7 months bodywide? Mine is just one leg and foot. I'd relax if I were you at the seven month mark. I'm 9 weeks I'm counting in getting to 6 months then relaxing....

Went to physio yesterday and she went at my back and seemingly now my leg is twitching more. I have impingement on my L4 nerve and my muscles in spine have hypotrohy meaning they are inflamed and she said it can pinch nerves . Can nerve pinched cause calf twitching I really wish I could just stop worrying
