worried about DVT/blood clot after bruise on leg?

I whacked my calf last night getting out of the shower (I slipped). I have a bad and painful bruise, which i read can cause DVT and possibly death. couold this happen?

I think they mean if you were in a car crash or something and your whole was messed up and bruised not just one spot from hitting it getting out the bath.

Yep! Happens all the time. My gf comes home from work with bruises all the time, after hitting her arms and legs on shower tiles and other hard surfaces. No blood clots yet! :P

I second that motion. My mom works in the designing business for houses, and whenever she comes back home some days, she'll have bruises because she hits counters or something LOL.
No DVT for her!
