Hi all, after managing to keep my health anxiety in check over the past few weeks, and planning to go camping over the summer hols, my eldest daughter on Friday, broke her leg on a friends' trampoline.
We're absolutely devastated, and I'm not going to lie, I have cried on a few occasions, especially seeing her trying to use the zimmer frame the hospital gave her. She is turning 5 on Thursday, and her party is on Saturday and I'm just completely heartbroken for her.
On top of all of those feelings, I'm also worried what if the bone doesn't heal right, what if it gets infected, what if she gets other forms of long term complications. I cannot help myself from getting into a real panic at times, and a real sense of dread about the future. Is this a life changing injury etc.
She is doing remarkably well so far, but I'm anxious as to how she will feel in weeks to come when she realises the cast won't be coming off for a while. She's in a full length cast, and will need it on for at least 6 weeks. The consultant rang today wanting to review her on Thursday as she was treated in A&E and not seen by specialists. He said because of where the break is and the size of the cast it's important he sees her. Now I'm wondering why, will she need an op? Has she got a very serious break? The fracture is just below the knee. Why does she need to be seen again?
Just can't believe it, my poor little girl.
