View Full Version : Bradycardia - Apple Watch nightmare!!

Hi everyone. I’ve had health anxiety for many years now. Perhaps foolishly, I recently bought an Apple Watch and have begun obsessing over heart rate. My resting heart rate sits at around the mid-to-low-50s. I’m 28 years old, male, but not particularly fit and a little overweight (so I know my low rate is not due to being athlete levels of fit!). My heart rate rises normally when I exercise and I don’t really feel any symptoms associated with Bradycardia (or I didn’t, but now I’m hyper-focused on it I’m convincing myself I do, but I know I can chalk that down to anxiety).

Anyway, if I don’t have any symptoms that are causing issues do I need to go to doctor? I HATE going to the doctor and would rather avoid it if I can, but wanted to know if anyone else has a relatively low heart rate and whether it causes any issues?

Thanks so much.

What exactly is your point here? Your resting heart rate is exactly where it should be and does exactly what it should when you exercise.

Your heart rate isn't low.

You need to take off the Apple Watch and throw it in the bin. You are literally making stuff up to worry about.

Hi,

A slower heart rate in the 50s with no symptoms can be considered normal. It could be caused by some conditions, medications, etc. too, obviously. If you feel okay, I'd not go to the doctor unless it's causing a lot of anxiety. :)
