New to Cymbalta...horrible first night

HI guys I have taken ssRI'S ON AND OFF FOR 20 YEARS. I do not tolerate them well at all. I can't sleep well and get irritable. Doc wanted me to try Cymbalta. Took for fist time yesterday and had about 2 hours sleep and thoughts "felt louder", more racing, panic feeling...like I haven't felt in years. It was scary. Any thoughts on this drug? I'm not sure I want to take it...I have mild OCD (thoughts)/health anxiety

Imho, it is the best of the common SNRIs (venlafaxine and desvenlafaxine are really only SSRIs), but some find the initial side-effects tough to deal with because of the relatively high starting dose. How much did you take?
