I passed out a few days ago. I started feeling hot and nauseated, then my vision went fuzzy and spotted, next thing I know I'm waking up on the living room floor. It was very scary as this has never happened before and I wasn't doing anything beforehand that would have caused this. A friend took me to the ER where they decided to admit me. After 2 days and lots of tests they weren't able to come up with a reason for this to happen so I was "freed." Now I'm scared, I don't know why this happened, I don't know if it will happen again and there isn't anything I can do to prevent another attack. Plus, I've lost my license for 6 months and therefore my job. Any other fainters here? Any words of wisdom? Any ideas as to how to get to the root of this problem?

This happened to my 11 year old daughter once and it scared the shit out of me. We rushed her to the emergency room where she was tested extensively, but like you nothing was found. We had a follow up 2 weeks later with our family dr. And he said these things can happen when you stand for long periods of time, sit up too quickly or come out of a hot shower or bath. He said it is more likely to happen to women than men, because women have wider arteries than men.
