Does anyone here have a swollen thyroid called a goitre? It doesnt seem very common at all, my neck is big and can feel the huge nodules on it:(

Have you been diagnosed with an enlarged thyroid, or are you just guessing? It's actually fairly common, as in the US there are apparently "more than 200,000 cases per year."

Yes I've been diagnosed with a multinodular goiter, multiple nodules and enlarged. Apparently my thyroid levels are all ok so very confusing as to why its enlarged

I have no idea... During a check up my dr noted it and sent me for an ultrasound that confirmed it, then sent me for a ct scan that agreed with the ultrasound. He told me it was enlarged but other then that there was nothing concerning.

If I remember right goiter just means enlarged thyroid and from I read its actually fairly common.

Mine is a multinodular goitre meaning loads of nodules all over it, I can feel my neck feels big and lumpy, I just want it gone!
