I have something similar called Lhermitte's from cancer treatment to my neck. Sometimes when I look down or turn my head a certain way, I get a strong shock-like feeling down my arms and spine to my legs. It's not terribly awful but its certainly not pleasant. Its worse when I'm tired or stressed. The key is relaxing and proper rest. Logically, taking care of yourself, getting rest and most of all treating the anxiety that's causing the stress and subsequent muscle tension would be the way forward in alleviating the symptoms.
